VOLUNTEERS WORKING IN HOSPITAL
The volunteers who work in a hospital must comply with the rules and the pace of the hospital that houses them. They must always be discreet, never intrusive towards both patients and health workers. Each volunteer wears a white coat allowing him/her to be identified and, at the same time,
to be distinguished from health workers. He/she wears a badge with his/her name and his/her volunteer status so that he/she can easily move within the hospital. When he/she starts working, he/she signs an attendance sheet which allows to know who and how many voluntaries are on duty at that particular moment and if the shifts are all duly filled. A volunteer is given the keys of a locker where he/she can put his/her coats and bags.

There is a diary in every ward; it is an important link on which volunteers write down the information that can be useful to the co-workers of the following shifts ( mention some particular situation, jobs to be done, etc.)
Volunteers are responsible for the equipment of the ward for patients’ entertainment ( party games, books, playing cards, portable transistor radios, etc.); it is their task to suggest the patient how to use the recreational facilities and to be careful they do not get lost.
